Infections, including covid-19

We hope you are all keeping well and Safe. With the virus still around, we will still have some procedures in place to protect the setting from all virus's and illnesses.

First and foremost, it goes without saying that the safety of your child and of our staff is our top priority. We are working hard, following the latest government guidance, to develop and implement a number of routines, focusing on measures that will help limit the risk of infections within our setting.

We ask that if your child develops a temperature or is feeling unwell to keep them at home, until they are better.

If a child has vomiting or/and diarrhea please keep them at home for 48 hours after the last bout of illness.

Within the setting we have developed routines to ensure children understand when and how to wash their hands, making sure they wash them thoroughly for at least 20 seconds using running water and soap and dry them thoroughly, or use a sanitiser ensuring that all parts of the hands are covered.

We are teaching the children to understand good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ approach and ensuring a good supply of tissues and bins throughout the setting.

Implementing an enhanced cleaning schedule, ensuring surfaces touched by children and staff are cleaned regularly and throughout the day, including table tops, door handles and play equipment.

We are asking Parents to still be considerate to each other and the staff by still keeping their distance at drop off and collection times

If a child becomes unwell whilst in our care, they will be isolated from the rest of the group. A Parent will be contacted to pick the child up immediately.

Only Playgroup staff will be allowed to enter the village Hall (unless you have been asked to stay to settle your child)

As we will try and spend a lot of the time outside the building, please provide appropriate clothing for that day (sunhats/coats etc)

Please do not bring anything from home, unless it is for the need of your child.

Routines

children to arrive between 0845am – 9.00am

On collection wait at a safe distance apart.

At the Session  Children will be asked to wash their hands-on entry, at regularly intervals throughout the morning and when leaving the building

All equipment will be regularly cleaned ready for the next session

items (paintings/ sticking etc) will be sent home at the end of each term

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message or email us (No calls please)
