Our Story
About Us
Birdlip & Brimpsfield Playgroup is well established and has been running for over 40 years. We are a community based playgroup serving the local area and beyond. A voluntary committee mainly made up of existing parents/carers runs playgroup. We are a non-profit making organisation and a provider under the Nursery Education Grant Scheme.
We have experienced qualified staff that provide a safe, happy and friendly atmosphere where all children from 2 years to rising 5s can enjoy a broad range of stimulating activities inside and outside. They can become more independent from you, learn through play and take the first steps towards school.
We use the village hall, which is located next to the school
For Outdoor play, we use the the playground next to the village hall (The old school's playground.)
Packed lunches are eaten in the village hall, alongside the school children.
We have a variety of activities and resources to aid the children's learning journeys while they are with us. The children have an opportunity at each session to Paint, write, draw, stick, build, make believe, problem solve, increase spacial awareness, run around and most importantly have fun, while learning
The playground gives opportunities to explore the outdoors, making dinner or potions in the mud kitchen, balance on stepping stones, ride trikes and scooters, draw with chalks, play with balls and hoops, dolls & Horses, Duplo bricks and more.
The local primary school also allow us to use their outdoor space, equipped with safety surfaces, a large playing field, wooded area and 'forest school' area.
Birdlip and Brimpsfield Playgroup Mission
Unique and Valuable
We believe that children thrive in an environment which values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively. By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
